I believe in one of the recent updates, they added an npc to open the gate for you. I don't currently have a presear character or I'd double check this.

I've been playing this game (solo) for about a week because I want to experience the game as fully as possible. My first 'over the wall' experience was so "follow me...follow me...avoid the monsters...I know where to go..." etc. Luckily, it appears that this is one of the few (so far) tasks/missions that doesn't take long and actually requires a 'human' prescence. After completing this (and wondering what else there might have been to see 'over the wall'), I thought I'd stay in town and return the favour by helping someone else with this task. But, another player who (I found out after starting the task) had already completed it and just wanted to rush through, then I (stupidly) continued to play and was rushed through to wherever it was for the post-searing part of the game, not knowing what was happening. I played Diablo2 for many years, stopped for a while and when I returned was stunned by all the new (to me) talk of rushing...running...or whatever term they use for getting from A to B without playing, without trying. I am a bit dismayed to find that Guildwars is already like this. /rant Why did I answer this post?! There was another I saw about 'giving away items' which raised my hackles too... Oh for god's sake, don't get me started...I hate forums.....heh Yes, please please please ANet, give us an NPC for this...and make the henchmen a little more intelligent...at least until I've convinced my friends to buy the game! |
